Buzz N Bees for your pets by Katie C. at InsiderPages
I purchase my cat's food at Buzz N Bees because no other store in Erie carries their food of choice. But, I agree with the expensive comments. I talk to others that purchase the same food in Ohio and in Pa and they pay as much as 5.00 less than I do per bag and the canned food is as much as 10 cents cheaper per can. Unfortunately for Erie people, it is the same in most of the stores around here. Everything costs more in Erie, why is that? Gas in Erie is as much as 40 cents more per gallon than across the border in Ohio and about 30 cents more per gallon than on the east side of the state. But, back to the pet store.... It seems to be a bit brighter and better organized under new ownership. Prices of course went up and unfortunately while it is better lit, the items are still way over priced and the shelves were not organized. Easier to see the clutter. Saw quite a few floating fish that had not been removed out of the tanks and many of the tanks were still dirty and had caked on sediment that was the same with the old owners. Hopefully the new owners are just getting started and things will be cleaner, more organized and the fish in healthier environments than before.

Wonderful Pet Store!! Best in Erie!!! by Russ M. at InsiderPages
I am very surprised by the bad reviews. I have been a patron for 6 years since I have moved to Erie. I have always loved the selection of fish and dog food that they provide. It is hard to find the specialty products they provide at the main Pet Stores.I also am shocked to hear the bad review concerning Pat. Pat has always been a pleasure to work with. He was always professional, on time, and very knowledgeable of what I needed when setting up a fish tank for my kids. My kids absolutely love seeing Pat every time we come in to by food for our pets. And since new ownership has taken over the place is even better. They have made some nice changes to the inside of the store that makes it even more pleasurable to shop there. And the new owner Aaron is amazing. He is extremely pleasant, helpful, and knowledgeable of the business. I will continue to be a customer of Buzz N Bees as long as I live in Erie!!

Buzz and Bees #1 in my book!!! by Nicole K. at InsiderPages
Frankly, I'm shocked at some of the negative reviews that this business has received. Both my husband and myself have been dealing with the staff at Buzz and Bees since the inception of our herp addiction 3 years ago. Not only are they friendly and professional, Pat and Angies knowledge of herps has proved invaluable. They always make time for me and my questions or concerns and have actually gone out of their way to help me. Angie has volunteered her own time to lizard sit for me and my husband when the military calls us away for long periods of time. My husband and I are deploying this month and not only did the staff at Buzz and Bees help us find homes for our pets but Angie is taking our cat for us so we don't have to get rid of him.

I have never had a bad experience with this business or it's staff. Any problems I have encountered have been dealt with quickly and effectively. the staff may not wear suits and ties and yes, they like to joke around but after all..it's a pet shop not a bank and the relaxed atmosphere is not only appropriate but welcomed.

As far as the prices go, you get what you pay for and in case you haven't noticed what your paying for gasoline lately, how do you think all the merchandise and animals gets to them...hmmm...by truck maybe.

I would also like to address the negative comments made by Gerard about Pat. I took great offense. Pat is nothing but professional and oh by the way Gerard..He's going to be the new owner soon. Congratulations Pat!

To the staff at Buzz and Bees..thank you for all of your help over the years. Jamie and I look forward to doing business with you again when we return from the sandbox! God Bless you and see you in late 2009!

Can Not Reccommend by Gerald M. at InsiderPages

Buzz N B??????s Pet Shop
2500 Yoder Dr.
Erie, PA 16506

Dear Mike or Tom,

I am writing about my latest encounter with one of your employees.

Tom recommended Pat for the installation of a Turbo Twist 6 UV Sterilizer. It turns out that Pat is very unprofessional with no sense of a work ethic.

Following this recommendation I asked Pat on two occasions to come to my home to install the sterilizer. At first he said he would come to my home but the second time he informed me that he had to install the sterilizer into the filter line at the pet shop due to his tools such as clamps located there. Pat also told me that the sterilizer would be mounted the rear of my aquarium.

My concern was that he would not be able to install the sterilizer properly without seeing how my aquarium was set up. As I suspected, Pat who never saw my aquarium and never asked me how it was set up and therefore without any planning on his part simply cut the return line of my canister filter in half to install the sterilizer.

When he arrived at my home, Pat was not able to install the sterilizer in the manner he stated that he would due to no advanced planning, which should have included knowledge of my aquarium set up. He couldn??????t mount it on the rear of my aquarium due to his negligent and reckless installation of the sterilizer by cutting the plastic tubing in half. As a result of his lack of planning he simply let the sterilizer hang by the plastic tubing behind the aquarium. This is not what the manufacturer advises for proper installation. The manufacturer advises vertical or horizontal installation using either the supplied turbo twist or tank brackets along with proper adjustment of the sterilizer to accommodate any attached tubing.

Do I now worry about damage to any of the tubing or sterilizer as a result of Pat not following the manufacturer??????s installation instruct
