Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrreat Veterinarian!
I am absolutely SHOCKED at some of the other reviews because I have taken my cats in to Dr. Boudreaux/Capitol Hill Animal Clinic for the past 15 years. Most recently, I had to take in my sweet old cat who has always suffered from respiratory problems and who was at death's door. Dr. Boudreaux and her staff pulled my cat through (I really thought that I was going to lose her) and I owe them a tremendous debt of gratitude. They hydrated and attended to my cat without hesitation. I cannot recommend this Vet highly enough. Incidentally, I have no more money than anyone else in this tough economy and I did not feel overcharged, especially in light of all of the trouble they went to in order to save my cat.

3rd Visit and Counting!
About a year ago my partner and I adopted two kittens. With the adoption came a free vet visit for both. We called CHAC. We were greeted in a friendly and helpful manner and informed our free visits would be honored.
Each of our visits we've been greeted by friendly staff and never waited more than a few minutes to be taken to the exam room. Upon entering the exam room a vet tech preps each kitten to be examined by the Dr. who arrives a very short time later.
In our three visits we've seen three different vets, all of whom I'd be more than happy to have see my kittens again. Our latest visit we were introduced to Dr. Barker if I recall correctly. She was simply amazing. She had such a calming manner, the kittens didn't even flinch for thier shots. She was caring about each of our concerns and explained everything without making us feel like we were being talked down to.
As for price, extremely reasonable, and you get a discount on the second pet when you bring them in together. Even the vaccinations were cheap as was the kitty toothpaste, apparently kittens get plaque too.
After we had a delightful conversation with the tech at the desk who we've chatted with each time we visit. We just couldn't stop raving about what a great visit. We'll see you next check up, god forbid before.

Seems fine by Neil S. at InsiderPages
I've brought my dog in for routine appointments for vaccines, flea/heartworm medicine, as well as to have her checked for epilepsy. In each instance, the prices seemed fair. The reception was helpful and the doctor was knowledgeable. I did have to make an appointment; since it is a small office, it doesn't seem like walk-ins are practical.

Given their location on 15th, the fact that they have parking in back is a bonus.

Not highly recommended by Kitty K. at InsiderPages
Reconsidered and don't want to be overly harsh here but this place really needs to get its act together with respect to retaining a constant staff (too many temporary veterinarians which discourages customers from returning because these doctors have no vested interest in keeping the clientele happy). Also grossly over-priced, in my opinion. Too bad because this neighborhood could really use a good, caring, competent and fairly-priced veterinary clinic (forget Broadway).

If Your Rich This Place is Great! by Dax V. at InsiderPages
When I first came to CHAC, I had the most terrible experience with the reception/staff. (Not the actual Doctors) In particular I was BS'd about simple cat questions. All of which can be easily found on the internet and by researching. When I corrected the staff member he backed away from it and said he would be right back with the Doctor.

A few years later I decide to bring my Kitten in to get a Neutering, Microchip, and final shots. First off, they thought my kitten was a girl. Ive brought the kitten in two other times prior for all the shots needed in early development. Then when we thought that we were gonna get a real quote in which they emailed us, they kept sending the quote to us proclaiming that the quote was actually attached. It wasnt. This hapenned twice before I had to just call them and have them tell me over the phone. It was terrible service nonetheless.

Me and my partner aren't poor, but were not rich either by any means. Anyone who actually reseraches prices out on the internet can easily find safe places to have your animal neutered or spayed for under a hundred bucks. Not CHAC, they wanted $360 dollars for a neuter and $400+ for a spay. Their reasoning is that they use top of the line anasthetics, catheders, and they keep a technician on your cat checking the heart rate/etc every 5 minutes. Yes, every 5 minutes. Just when you thought it couldnt get any more impractical right?

No thanks, I will be taking my kitten to get neutered somewhere reasonable. By reasonable, I mean on this planet. The actual doctors are nice and knowledgeable, but that just sometimes isnt enough.

Just stating my dealings with them. Im sure many people find them excellent. Good for them!
