Nicest mechanic
I called asking if they could service my '87 Chevy Nova and was surprised to hear that they could. I thought they only worked on luxury cars. I must have been speaking to the owner because he told me his workers were the best/highly skilled and that made the cost of repairs a bit more pricey. Maybe he could tell this worried me because he quickly recommended another place I could take my car that would specialize in that maker. What repair place does that? He was very sweet and I know if I ever own something they specialize in I'll be sure to take it to Car Tender. For now...as a poor student I'll settle for his (also good) recommendation. Mostly...he was just sincere and caring.

Only trustworthy place to take your vehicles!
I would highly recommend Car Tender to anyone looking for a place to take their European cars that will provide professional, accurate, precise, and honest work. I take both of my BMWs to Car Tender now. Aftering having a bad experience at another auto shop where everything they fixed went wrong and they didn't do things they should have, I started taking all my vehicles to car tender. Unlike many shops, they keep you informed of everything they learn while working on your car when they find it out. After the work is done, my vehicles look as if it has just come off of a showroom. The work is always very clean and accurate. Everything has always been diagnosed and repaired right the first time! Some may say Car Tender is more expensive than other places, but learn from my mistake; it is FAR more worth your time and money to take your vehicles to Car Tender the first time and possibly pay a little bit more money but you know that your vehicle is fixed currectly rather than to do what I did and take your vehicle somewhere cheaper and have everything go wrong so that you end up being out the money you paid that place and still ending up bringing it into Car Tender to have the other shops screw up fixed! I would recommend to anyone that really loves their car (and doesn't want to be lied to and taken advantage of by some other shop) to always bring it to Car Tender.

Sure feels like a bait-n-switch... by Mojo S. at InsiderPages
Waited 10 days to get my 2000 BMW 328 in the shop. Repair was to be completed in 2 days. We're now on day 6 and they are just starting the repair and the estimate just doubled! I'm definitely getting the run-around from the service manager Patrick. First time in their shop and they've already lost me as a repeat customer.

I love this place!! The service is excellent!
I read one of the reviews and agree that this is a great place to get your BMW repaired. I have been about everywhere and this is the best I have found... The people seem to be well trained and really care unlike many places I've been to. They even washed my car which was a great. I also agree that they are not inexpensive, but much less than the dealer!!! My BMW needs TLC and if the words "cheap" are in the name, the picture doesn't seem right to me. I'm looking for value and thats what they have given me. I have an appointment for my Wifes Mercedes and I'm sure it will receive the same care and quality.

Pros: A little far from my house, but worth the trip!
Cons: I don't think they work on Ford's?

Good work but expensive and somewhat slow
Very good work, but significantly more expensive than a cheaper place such as Cheap Tires and Brakes in the U. For example; for a couple of minor parts and a 40K service, the total was $1,200.00. (This included a charge of almost $200 just to run the diagnostic and figure out what was wrong [most places are about $90] as well as more than $650 in labor. The 40K service was comprable to the VW dealership (which is also high).

The upside is that they are thorough and do the job right. Saddly, this is more than I can say for many other places I've been to. Whats more, they make an effort at calling you every time they find something new, and all of the repairs were legitimate. I DO think they overcharge for their labor, but again, they are otherwise good mechanics and trustworthy.

This is a good place to go for something complicated or difficult, or if your car is not easy to work on. (All newer cars, basically). This is DEFINITELY a good place to go if cost is NOT an issue. They appear to have lots of experience and a good reputation with working on European cars such as VW & BMW. They were not terribly fast, but this could have been seasonal.
