Known for it's compassion!
Northshore Montessori & Child Care is a beautifully ran child care center. They are known for their: high qualified staff members, (who have all been there between 1-6 years no less, each with S.T.A.R.S. and C.P.R. certified credentials), reputable by many of the Northshore School District Kindergarten teachers and staff, and annually approved by the D.S.H.S. liscensing officials. N.S.M. has well thought out plans for any emergency, and conduct monthly routine drills. I was so lucky to have my child attend Northshore Montessori as an infant. The woman who once cared for my baby, while I was at work, is now one of the directors. I know from experience that she instills her very passion for children, into that entire staff and atmosphere. My daughter is now in the pre-school classroom. She comes home daily with such wonderful stories. The Montessori Method is taken seriously at this school, both Montessori teachers are certified through the Montessori Institute of America. I highly suggest you go see it for yourself. It's one of a kind!

I toured this facility as I will have to return to work after I give birth. This place was very dingy, the staff did not remove their shoes when entering the infant rooms, the whole place smelled of stale urine and the infant room reminded me of a 3rd world country orphanage that you see on tv with its rows of white cribs. The director skirted around some of my questions, wasn't willing to accomodate the use of glass bottles and was hesitant to allow cloth diapers (other facilities are). I asked specifically about a plan in case of emergency and didn't get a very good response other than "we would call the parents right away" and "we are right next to the fire station." That's great but what if the entire block is evacuated, where will the children go AND be safe? She didn't have an answer for that question either.

Pros: Low cost, however if you were on a very tight budget, I would consider alternative care.
Cons: See my review, it is all bad.
