Great atmosphere, good cheap food
I love the Rendezvous. The atmosphere is sort of 1920's, with high boothes, red walls, dark, swanky, sultry. The food is good too, nothing fancy, but they have good food for a good price. You can get a sandwich with either salad or fries for about $7.00 and they have really good ones like chicken with carmelzied onions and basalmic vinegar, served hot. Vegetarian options too like the portabello sandwich or grilled cheese with tomatoes and carmalized onions.
The best time I had at the Rendezvous was my birthday party last year. You can reserve their Velvet Room upstairs for up to 30-40 people for no fee as long as you spend at least $200.00 (which for 30 people is definately not a problem). The Velvet Room is aptly named with lots of big red velvet couches and ottomans, with some tables and candles. Our cocktail waitress was great.
Most of the servers are awesome, although I have had bad service from one of the bartenders. Definately recommended for happy hour or private parties in the Velvet Room.
