Reading other's reviews I had to join! This is NOT a Baptist Church! It is Roman Catholic! But NOT reflective of orthodox, traditional Roman Catholic. The 5:30 service, as are all services, is a Mass! The church's embracing and inclusive culture are so expansive that it has (as reflected in other reviews) lost it's Catholic identity. It has indeed become St. John, The BAPTIST, Church; with much hand-clapping, rhythmic swaying and gospel hymns; Do you believe!? (instead of the traditional Credo). Ok, if you are looking for that sort of thing, but a great disappointment if you are Catholic! At one children's Christmas liturgy/pageant, the lady in front of me presented her sniffing chihuahua to the Eucharistic Minister to receive the Sacred Host! The dog was passed over without any hint of disapproval and the Host was presented to the lady who then consumed it and returned to her seat.

I go the the 5:30PM service at this church and it has changed my life!. The youth program is called LIFE TEEN. I am not a teen, but the music and the message speaks to all ages. This service is for the young and young at heart. The congrigation is so welcoming at all the services and there are so many programs that you can become involved in for Elementary, Jr. High, Highschool, and Adults. They are very involved with the community. The church itself is a more contemporary, at home type of feeling.

This is a great church to attend in the Covington area. The building is beautiful and they have a good youth program for kids of all ages. St. John's is very active in the community as well.
